Payton's Arm Surgery

We woke up very early and dropped Britton off to Linda and headed to Arnold Palmer for Payton's arm surgery.  I was very nervous for the surgery especially after the surgeon had told me that he had done many arm surgeries but not many of the type that he was doing on Payton.  Lets just say that I was a nervous wreck after they took her away from me.  The great news was that the Dr. Ramos said that they surgery went was good as it could have gone and he was able to get the pin in with out having to make an incision.  If he would have done the incision it would have meant coming back again in a few weeks and putting her back to sleep to remove the pin from the inside (so thankful this did not happen).  It is days like this that I count my many many blessings!

Valentine's Day 2012

After Payton got surgery on her arm I went and got Britton and came home and let the kids open their Valentines day treats.  Payton had a quiet day but was in only a little pain thank goodness!

Sammy the Squirrel

Linda had been telling me for last few days that she had been hearing a disturbing scratching noise behind her TV.  Finally they caught the little critter creating all of the noise.  A little baby squirrel who we named Sammy. This little squirrel was surprisingly friendly and the kids loved having him as a new pet.  Sammy got to go to show in tell at the kids school and spent a week with us.   One day we came home to get him out of his cage and he was stiff as a board.  The kids were heart broken and I was a little sad myself.  He was a good little pet!
His first meal after not having any food or drink for two days... he went crazy!
He loved to be inside of pockets.
Jonathan really liked him too!

A sympathy bear

I was going to save this Build A Bear surprise for Vday but after hearing that Payton would have to get surgery I decided to cheer her up!  Because of all of the emotional pain I was experiencing, I did not want to see an ounce of pain or sadness on my baby girls face and this is the one place that I know will bring a smile to her and it did!

Happy Birthday Nee

Happy Birthday to an amazing mother and grandmother! I love you mommy!

A Broken Arm!

Payton was playing on a plastic baby swing and fell off on the grass and hurt her arm. She cried pretty hard but it was nothing like the cry Britton had when he broke his leg. We gave her Tylenol and watched her very closely.  The next morning I made an appointment just to be safe... thinking that the doctor was going to tell me I was just paranoid mom!
This is how Payton looked at the beginning of her appointment with the doctor.  We really were just hoping to walk out of the office with a splint! Well...
 A Little Break...
and here is a Big BREAK! (the one that resulted in surgery)
And here is how Payton was after she realized she had to get a cast and surgery.
He sure does love his sissy!
This is Payton after I told her that I was going to take her to Build a Bear!
