Britton 1 Week Old

The first week with Britton has been such a joy. He is such a sweet baby and we are so in love with him. Jonathon has been away this past week to take his FINAL test to get his license so Payton, Britton and I have had lots of time alone to figure out a routine and I have to say that having two children is not as hard as I thought it would be (although I am not saying it is easy;). I have had so much help from my family and I am so grateful for everyone who has been there for us. My mom and sister came to stay with me for the night and I went to stay with my mom for one night. My mom has been so helpful and supportive of us and I can’t thank her enough! The other night the Young Women came by and dropped off the most delicious chicken and rice meal. Here are a few of my many of my favorite things about Britton from this week:
· He makes the funniest little snorting noises when he is hungry and does the cutest little rooting motions.
· How he sleeps so solid even with Payton and me making so much noise around him.
· How Payton loves Britton so much and she helps me with him. She calls him Bitten right now;).
· How he loves to be snuggled and is so lovable.

Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween! This year Halloween was very uneventful for us. Jonathon had to study for a test he had to take the next day so we decided to just stay home and order some pizza and go on our first family walk. Payton has been so much better and has been really into Britton and helping me take care of him. I love being a mom of a little girl and a little boy... I feel so blessed!. Britton 4 days old

Britton's first day home

We got to take Britton home from the hospital today with strict orders to watch him very closely because he was running a temperature in the hospital and because there was a question of whether or not he might had gotten an infection from me since I was running a fever after giving birth to him. The doctors said that if he had a temperature of 100.4 or higher to take him straight to the emergency room. So far everything has been great with him and his temperture. Payton came home to see him and what a train wreck! I have never seen her act the way that she did. She wanted to hold him but at the same time she was very jealous of him. Jonathon and I were expecting this and had our minds made up that no matter how bad she was that we would be very patent and understanding in hopes of making this a very positive experience for her. Good thing we had anticipated this and heard stories because that would have been a huge shocker! Britton has been an absolute angel! I can't believe how crazy I am about him! I am so in love with this little guy!

Britton's first time in his crib... hopefully we will get lots of this in the future;).

Britton first two days

The first two days with Britton have been wonderful. Jonathon and I have been at the hospital and my recovery has been quit the treat compared to Payton. It is a totally different and wonderful experience having a healthy baby. Payton stayed with Rhea, Katelyn and Linda while we were in the hospital and I can't thank them enough for taking such great care of her... I am so lucky to have such an amazing and supportive family. Everyone came up and brought Payton to to see him and she was not sure what to think of him. At first she was shy and then she thought he was a baby doll that she could carry out of the hospital with her. After everyone left Jonathon and I got some rest and got ready for my sister and her family to come and my friend Falon. Jonathon and I are so blessed to have been given this beautiful healthy baby boy. Kisses for brother.

Britton Craig Wise

Britton was born at 6:12am on October 28,2008 after 19 hours of labor. He weighed in at 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 21.25 inches. He had to be taken to the transit nursery because he had sucked up some fluids during delivery, but the Doctor thinks everything will be fine. He is such a blessing to our family and we are so grateful for all the prayers, love and support everyone has shown us through this time. I will be blogging more about this in the near future and will have lots more photos.

Getting induced

How crazy and wonderful is technology?!? I am sitting in a hospital bed blogging about getting induced. Jonathon and I came in at 10am to start the induction and so far at 1pm everything is going well. The IV was a challenge but that's because I have a weak stomach and the nurse said that she broke a vein which made me almost faint! Besides that everything is going great. When they checked me I was a 3. They have started the pitocin and contractions have been mild. It was nice driving to the hospital feeling perfectly fine instead of worrying about delivering in the car;). Pictures will be coming soon of Britton...39w

Trunk or Treat

Tonight Jonathon, Payton and I celebrated Halloween early since we will not be doing much on the 31st because of our new addition and because Jonathon having boards the next day. We went to the Trunk or Treat event at the church and had lots of fun. There was lots of people dressed up and everyone was having a great time. My mom and Bryant surprised us and showed up which was really awesome. Payton was a lady bug and I was a fat cat. Jonathon did not dress up this year but next year I probably will not let him get out of it;).

Cameryn Grace turns 8

After my doctor’s appointment Payton and I went with my mom and grandma to my niece’s 8th birthday party. I can’t believe how much she has grown up. She is such an angel and I love her so much. Payton had a blast playing with the big girls and Cameryn made sure that all of her friends included her in with the activities. One of Cameryn’s friends was with her before the party and asked Cameryn to play with her and agreed to play with her but insisted that Payton had to come play as well… it melted my heart to see Cameryn love her baby cousin so much.
The party went really well and Cameryn had a great time. The kids jumped in a bounce house, played games, ate pizza and cupcakes and just had fun being little girls.
Happy 8th birthday Cameryn! You are so special to me!

Pregnancy Update

I went to the doctor yesterday hoping that he would tell me it was time to go to the hospital but instead I just had that not so fun membrane stripping thing done. Dr. Zittel said I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, which I guess from searching on Google means nothing at all as far as predicting when I could go into labor. The good news for me is that if I don’t go before October 27th then I will be able to get induced. I never got this far along with Payton and I am learning that towards the end, at least for me, each day seems like a week and being comfortable is a hard thing to achieve. I can’t wait to hold Britton and not be pregnant! 37w5d

Who's the baby?

Yesterday Jonathon packed the car up and because of Payton and Britton’s car seat Cali had to ride in the back and did not appreciate that too much. When Jonathon came back to load Payton in the car he found Cali sitting in Britton’s car seat. He came to me laughing so I grabbed my camera. She is such a little baby or so she thinks. We let her ride like this down the road until I decided that she might be a little more comfortable if I cleared out the middle space for her.
